Instructions

  • The leadership team should complete this together during a meeting. It should take around 45 minutes to complete.
  • One person facilitating and one person recording answers in the tool (can be same person)
  • The audit contains factual questions which can be answered with a yes/in progress/no/don’t know and can be used to identify a range of ‘quick wins’.
  • Please answer to best of your ability, everything is about continuous improvement, answer truthfully as this is not a test, the tool is looking to assess your status as part of a journey towards continuous improvement. 
  • If your safeguarding lead is not on your SLT, then you can choose to invite them to the meeting if you think it would be valuable for them to join the discussion. We suggest that they answer all questions last as they may have more knowledge, and it’s important to understand SLT’s understanding of your progress 
  • Completion of the tool will generate an action plan at three levels:
    • Priority actions to tackle immediately
    • Medium-term actions for the next 6 months
    • Long-term actions for the year ahead
